‘And if you don’t know, now you know’

The first edition of our JUICY white. A blend of Macabeo and Xarel.Lo. Destemmed by hand, macerated for 13 days, then pressed into amphora. Later moved into old oak barrels of 500 liters.

Sipping this wine is a one-way ticket to the tropics!  A yummy white full of fresh mangos, energetic pineapples and juicy lemons. The long maceration provides structure while the touch of oak gives it a nice round mouthfeel.

Vinyes Tortuga is located in Rabós, a small town in the region of Alt-Empordá, Girona, Spain and consists of 9.5 ha of land that’s shared with almost extinct Tortugas. The proud owners are Dido and Jurriaan, a couple originally from Amsterdam, who now farm this entire estate according biodynamic principles. They strive to work as natural as possible, both on the land as well as in the winery, on the rhythm of the earth and her seasons, and without unnecessary chemical treatments. The vines are located between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean sea, receiving both enough humidity from the salty sea breeze as well as cool and dry winds from the mountains. The soil here consists of the famous Licorella, a blend of slate and graphite, that gets an honest chance to express itself in all of the wines made by Vinyes Tortuga.
